July 1, 2006 - Carol and I head to Bend (Sunriver), Oregon for a visit with Carol's sister and her family and to pick up Mom (Babs) to bring her home...Our first stop is in Dunsmuir, where we spend the night Saturday...Nice little town, unfortunately not much in rooms available so we got to stay at the "Best Choice Inn"...Came with a Pool (no water) and a Jacuzzi (see pool). It had a 24 hour restaurant (not open for years).......One good thing, this was the view of Mt Shasta......
JULY 2 - On the way to Bend we get to "enjoy" many reststops...By far the nicest and cleanest etc. was near Klamath Falls in Oregon......
One of the main reasons we headed to Bend was for the one year birthday of Chaylon (Chay). Carol's niece's (Katie) son...Here is the the official cake eating...

Carol and I took a nice bike ride. This is a little proof as we are on a bridge over the Deschutes River....
 
I went to the High Desert Museum today...Great place...Highly recommend it.. Here is an Otter in the Otter exhibit and a Bald Eagle at the Birds of Prey exhibit....
 
JULY 6 - Heading home...It's a long trip from Bend back to Petaluma. Started off around 10AM and with rest and food stops ended up at home around 10PM. Of course that included a late stop at Petaluma's new In and Out!! We did pull over in Redding to see the Sundial Bridge. Here is a pic. I did cheat a little, as this is not a picture taken by me. Was too lazy too dig camera out of back...found this on the net...Cool site...We were too tired to get out, so this is about what we saw...
